Diversity grants are available for underrepresented individuals wishing to attend Lambda World Cádiz.
Lambda World is a non-profit, two-day functional programming conference held in Cádiz, Spain October 17th and 18th featuring workshops, presentations, and community events celebrating languages like Scala, Kotlin, F#, Java, Clojure, Haskell, Rust, and more.
Fostering diversity and inclusivity remains a priority for Lambda World. We’re excited to announce that we’re offering five grants again this year for individuals underrepresented in the tech industry. This includes, but isn’t limited to, women, people of color, LGBTQIA+ people, people needed financial assistance, and people with disabilities.
Grant recipients receive:
- Full access to all conference sessions and workshops.
- A three-night stay (double or single room) at a hotel booked by the event (Check-In Oct 16th / Check-Out Oct 19th).
- Entrance to the Closing Party.
These diversity grants are possible because of generous support from 47 Degrees, as well as donations from wonderful people in the community, including <a href=”https://twitter.com/ctford” target”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>Chris Ford</a>, <a href=”https://twitter.com/palutz” target”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>Stefano Paluello</a>, <a href=”https://twitter.com/n8breitsch” target”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>Nathan Breitsch</a>, and David Costa. Additional support is provided in partnership with the <a href=”https://foundation.travis-ci.org/Travis” target”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>Travis Foundation</a> and Women Who Code.
If you’re not thrilled by the idea of attending a conference by yourself, you can bring a friend with you! Just opt for the double room, and we’ll cover your friend or colleague’s entrance fee to the conference as well! But, keep in mind that grants don’t cover transportation for you or your guest.
We pride ourselves in offering a fun environment for learning, networking, and growing the Functional Programming community. Lambda World is an inclusive event that follows a strict code of conduct. We’re happy to offer FREE childcare at the venue for registered attendees, speakers, volunteers, and sponsors. The certified childcare providers will be bi-lingual in English and Spanish. Additionally, we will have a designated space for nursing mothers throughout the event. If you have need of childcare services, please register to reserve a spot.
